This is for a 3 player (1 hitter/1 pitcher/1 either or) draft value keeper league where you keep a guy for two years based on the original round he was drafted in. For example, I plan on keeping Ian Kinsler, so I will lose my 17th round pick for 2009, because that's where I drafted him two years ago. Who should be my second hitting keeper?
10 Person Roto League 6x6 (add OBP for batters, K : BB for pitchers)
Nelson Cruz (of) - 23rd round (30/100 potential) Chris Davis (1b/3b) - 23rd round (30/100 potential) Ryan Doumit (c/of) - 23rd round (.300 catcher with good pop) Prince Fielder (1b) - 10th round (could perform like a 2nd rounder) Mike Jacobs (1b) - 23rd round (30/100 potential) Ian Kinsler (2b) - 17th round (5 cat stud - will keep him) Cameron Maybin (of) - 23rd round (uber prospect) Lastings Milledge (of) - 23rd round (20/20 potential) Joey Votto (of) - 16th round (30/100 potential) Ian Stewart (2b/3b) - 23rd round (20/80 potential)
I know Fielder may be the highest ranked player, but he is also the most costly. I am thinking to accompany Kinsler with either Cruz, Davis, or Votto. I think Votto is the safest choice because he was very consistent last year as a rookie, but I feel like the other guys have more potential, especially Davis. Or should I be looking at a different guy on the list? Thoughts?
i think it's pretty much a toss-up between davis and fielder. since you only keep two hitters and it's only for 2 years, i'd go with fielder as i feel he's a safer option that still has a ton of upside. he may be more expensive but under the circumstances i think he's the best option of value and talent available.
Fielder as well. Kinsler/Fielder is a nice core int he lat rounds. Though, if you decided to go Davis in the 23rd, couldn't laugh at that. Great option value down there
