Week or Hardy

Postby grammysboy » Mon Feb 02, 2009 12:14 am

I posted this on the leftover forum, but it probably should go here. I play in a modified keeper league where we get to keep players for one year at the price we buy them for in the auction. Basically every player is eligible to be drafted at least once every two years. Free agents can be bought during the season for $10. I have Rickie Weeks for $14 and JJ Hardie for $10. Would you keep either of them at these prices or dump them back into the auction?

Hardy is probably worth keeping at $10 (the equivalent of someone on the WW), but I would let Weeks go back.

Weeks at $14 I wouldn't do.

Hardy for $10 seems fair. With a .280 avg and around 25 HR from SS that's decent value. Not great, but good enough to keep him I think.
He once hit a ball between my legs so hard that my center-fielder caught it on the fly backing up against the wall.

If Satch (Paige) and I were pitching on the same team, we would clinch the pennant by July fourth and go fishing until World Series time.

No way I keep weeks at 14. Hardy is a toss up. I'd probably throw him back, but couldn't argue with keeping him.
