Hi, I would appreciate some help with a recent trade offer. I was offered Chad Billingsley for John Danks and Dexter Fowler.
The league is a dynasty salary h2h league. Danks and Billingsley both have the same cheap contract signed through 2011 and Fowler is still in my MILB system so whoever brings him to the majors would have him under contract for 5 years on the cheap intro contract.
I am pretty solid across the board so I am just looking to upgrade wherever possible. Billingsley is better than Danks but by how much? The stats suggest not that much and Danks is a LHP who is only 23 which means he still has room for growth, right? Would this be a good trade for me? Would I rue the trade from next year on?
Thanks for any insight or help!

Hrm. Tough call. Bother Danks and Billingsley took very real, sustainable steps forward in 2008. If you ask me, Danks + Fowler is pretty expensive for a slight upgrade at SP. Oh, it will probably be an upgrade, but Fowler isn't chump change either.
My suggestion? If you have a slightly lesser prospect than Fowler, try to counter with Danks and that lesser prospect and see if he'll bite. If not, than it comes down to your goal: Are you trying to win now or later. If the answer is now, go after Bil' though you're certainly paying a price for him.

Agreed, pull the trigger.
Thanks for everybody who has chimed in but I am kind of puzzled by the seemingly easy choice of Billingsley over Danks and Fowler.
If we take 2008's stats in a H2H League, Billingsley only provided a couple more wins, a decent increase in overall K's but more BB's and a only slightly lower ERA with a higher Whip.
Do you guys just think Danks' season was a fluke or that Fowler will never hit for power or that Billinglsey still has a lot of more room to grow?
Yes, I think that despite both having similar seasons last year, its all about forecasting for this year. They may have put up similar numbers in your eyes, but realistically, Danks played over his head, while Billingsley hasn't even reached his potential yet. Although Fowler is a top prospect right now, much of that love is due to his defensive prowess at CF, a prime defensive position.
