IMO this makes sluggers clearly the top commodity... I think my team could be good this year what do you think?
C Russ Martin
1B Conor Jackson
2B Ian Kinsler
SS Clint Barmes
3B Alex Rodriguez
LF Shin-Soo Choo
CF Chris Young
RF Vladimir Guerrero
Util Hunter Pence
Bench: Nick Swisher, Russ Branyan, Adam Jones, Alberto Callaspo,
SP Roy Halladay
SP Matt Garza
RP Chris Perez
RP Jeremy Affeldt
P Carlos Villanueva
P Mike Adams
P Round 12 (probably Miguel Batista... I need saves)
P Round 13 TBD
Bench: Scott Baker, Randy Johnson, Joba Chamberlain, Round 14
I am thinking of taking another RP in round 14, since I could put Villanueva (and Batista I believe) in the SP slots. This will enable me to (hopefully) rack up more holds and innings with decent ratios for everyone but Batista.
Great team! I like your bench players a lot - they should prove very valuable.
In regards to the rest of your draft, you could really use another SS option. I don't trust Barmes at all. You also (as you noted) need to target some closer options.
Otherwise, this team looks awfully solid. If you could shore up your SS, add two closers or so, and perhaps nail down another rising SP, I see no reason why you can't contend.
Help with mine? It's about three topics down entitled "pick 1 of 3...". Thanks.
