Prince, Morneau, and Berkman

Postby TheGhost » Thu Jan 29, 2009 4:03 pm

Prine Fielder, Lance Berkman, Justin Morneau

I think that one or two of these guys are going to be available to me in the third round of my draft. Not thrilled with taking any of these three that early, but how would you rate them this year according to my league settings?

I play in a 10 team, H2H, total points league on CBS sportsline.

morneau
prince
berkman

i have never really been a fan of berkman and after his monster first half he cooled off big time in the second half and he is going to be 33 this year so thats why i rank him last. many people will probably put prince over morneau because of princes 50 homer season but morneau's skills and stats all point to a rebound in HR and that he will reach 30 HR like he should and will have a .300 avg with over 120 rbis. prince is nice as well but his avg will be around .270 but he has more power potential of 35-45 HR...however i don't trust prince's body...he has a lot of weight on such a small frame which will eventually catch up with him whether its now or 5 years from now. but i like morneau the best.

I could go with either Fielder or Berkman - and my preference varies from day to day. Would take them both before Morneau.

I agree with a lot of what you said and thanks for the input. Prince became a vegetarian and still looks like Jabba the Hut . Interesting that every other response has Morneau rated last of the three. Other thoughts?

I would not feel bad for taking any of the three in the third round, especially if berkman falls to you.

Berkman, by a slight margin
Morneau - bump in HR this year while hitting around .300
Fielder

Not thrilled with taking any of these 3 in the 3rd round? How long do you expect these slugging 1st baseman to last?
