Agreed. Braun for me. He's still getting better too. In 401 PA (first half of the season), he had 20 BB/78 K, in the 262 post ASB PAs, he had 22 BB/51 K. His plate discipline is slowly improving. His numbers would have been even better if he hadn't had the rib muscle injury that noticably altered his swing. In August and September, he had quite a bit of trouble getting around on balls inside, normally a power zone for Brauny. I greatly anticipate his 2009 season, I think we could be looking at .300/40/100+ with 15-20 SB.
Carlos Beltran Josh Hamilton Ryan Braun Grady Sizemore Matt Holliday Alfonso Soriano
...Sizemore and Braun have the youth and higher potential of everyone but they all will be close in overall value, IMO.
I think it's close too. Beltran had a rather underrated year and some like Hamilton because he still could have room for improvement. At the end of the day, I'd probably narrow it down to Sizemore and Braun though for top spot, but perhaps by season's end, there's not too much to distinguish the 9th best OF from the top OF.
I went with Braun. Braun should give you 10 more hr's , 25 more rbi's , 15 point better ave. I think that's worth more thn the 20 extra runs and 20 extra steals that Sizemore should give you. I really don't like batters with a chance for a low batting average . It turns into a negative for that category. Sizemore's ave hurt his owners in that category last year. I do think he can raise it a little, but it's still a little low for my liking . Especially for a 1st round pick. Braun should pitch in 15 steals , so he doesn't have any negative impact categories.
I like Grady, I can see then having similar averages this year, within .005 of each other. Grady was on base 235 times last year and only scored 68 times. With a healthy V-Mart and Hafner (gulp) hitting behind him, he should get 125 runs. I think a .280, 125, 30, 35, 80 season is a tad bit better than what Braun will put up.
Sizemore an inch ahead of Braun, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Quentin #1 by the end of the year. His OPS+ was 20 points higher than Braun's and Sizemore's, and he struck out significantly less than either of them.

I am expecting Braun to hit 40 provided he doesn't miss any time.

Braun quite easily for me. Of course, I irrationally hate Sizemore for sucking the last 6 weeks of 2007 after trading for him and almost costing me my main money league.
