Well, yes - it will be those two guys but you don't know in what order. The voting is pretty close and its quite possible enough of the Peavy votes could go to Hamels since they are similar style pitchers.

Peavy and Hamels similar style pitchers? :-?

Yeah - that didn't come across right. I see them both more as power guys than Webb. Obviously, they are quite different.

But frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the year, Joba Chamberlain is perceived as the top ace in baseball. He certainly has the talent to match anybody on the list, so now it's only a matter of putting together a solid full-season together.

Joba has as much talent as anyone, but with his high pitch count problems last season and his injury concerns plus innings limit, he's not going to throw more than 170 innings. If he stays healthy this year and puts up a sparkling line he might get taken in the top 10 next year, but that is probably the limit for him.

I love Joba but the chances of him becoming the top pitcher by the end of 09 is almost slim to none.

Joba is good, but he will not even be in the top 10.

Maybe in the next few years but this year there is no way he is in the Top 10.

Joba probably won't throw over 150-160 innings this year. He should be very good when he is on the mound, but the Yankees are going to be cautious enough to keep his fantasy value down for at least another year or two.
