But I've been wondering the same thing, considering him as a 4th OF or bench option. I'd probably take someone like Sanders over Lofton, though, all things considered.

I have been drafting him on some of my teams as a reserve OF. Based on his past steal seasons, and the posibility of him leading off all season for the Yankees. If he gets 500 or more AB's this season, he will have a ton of runs and 20 or more steals in the loaded Yankees lineup. He is way worth the gamble as a reserve OF because of the lineup he is batting in.

Hard to argue with that. Here's a list of guys I'm thinking of taking before him, though, for argument's sake:

Gibbons- 27 and likely to breakout
Burrell- has to bounce back?
Guillen- young age a +
Sanders- kinda average?
Dunn- batted .215 last year
Bradley- a "ticking time bomb"

K.Lofton- I'll def. take him over Payton and Bernie.

J.Payton- kinda average
B.Williams- injury concern

I'd avoid Lofton because his playing time is not certain.

I'd take Lofton, and dump him at halfway, no matter how good his stats are. He will score a bunch of runs and still swipe a few bags in the first half.

No on the contrary, I see his stock rising.

Maybe 550 AB's leading off arguably the greatest hitting team ever and with a career .321 batting avg. and .400 OBP hitting at Yankee Stadium, he is a steal going as late as he is in most drafts.
