League to League it can vary (some have more speedbumps some have little quirks that speed up or slow down the bidding process, break(s), etc) but ROUGHLY 5-6 hours if you are auctioning off everyone on the rosters. Some leagues Auction to a point then have reserves draft and that shaves some off.

If youre thinking of going that way or the league is dont worry about length, IMO Auction is far worth it ;-D

Good luck and maybe some others can chime in with their experiences

Definitely doing a draft, but trying to decide a draft time so trying to see how much time I should reserve?

Depending on how many teams and if everyone is prepared - anywhere from 5-8 hours. One unprepared person can slow everything up.

If you do it online with timeouts on bidding and nominations, it goes much smoother/faster. We auction 16 team, 22 players on auctioneer and that takes us about 4.5-5 hours each year. I did 1 live auction a few years ago for 16 team, 23 rosters spots and that took us about 9 hours. that's with 2 owners coming in totally unprepared.

I did another live auction last year that was very interesting and totally enjoyed it. its was setup as such.

All 28 team names are selected one at a time out of a hat. For each team, we bid on each player on the roster in alphabetical order. At the end of all 28 teams, any teams with incomplete rosters take turns nominating players for bidding.

if the league has never been an auction, it'll be a marathon.it is anyway. best advice is be sure everyone is prepared, next guy to nominate the next name is always aware he's on deck.not a bad idea to have someone not in league running it, but thats not always possible
