If you ever played AOL's Grandstand Fantasy baseball, our league has continued on the tradition of playing two head-head, best of 3 series each week. We are a 12 team AL-Only league, which drafts 99.9% from scratch each year. Roster size 25. Fee 125. Each team makes a postseason tournament with payout tiered 1-4; 5-8; 9-12 accordingly.
Internet based league...Everybody plays hard but we dont chatter a whole lot anymore....Majority of owners have played in league approx 8-10 years and compete hard til the end cuz there is always somethingon the table toplay for.
This format is great and would prefer an owner who has played GFBase and realises what a cool game it is. Some have a hard time adjusting but the payoff in enjoyment is worth it.
This format, which includes a 3-game head-head matchup mon-thu, and then a weekend 3-game series, produces a competitive cadence which mirrors that of a real major league competition.
The game is points based and each matchup consists of a 3 game series. Batting Points/Pitching Points/Total Points
There are about a dozen hitting categorys which tally + or - points, whether it be a HR, RBI, , K, etc....
There are about a dozen pitching categories which tally = or - points, whether it be W, IP, BB, BS, etc...
Whichever team wins total points in the head-head period goes 2-1 or 3-0 for the series.
