Trade Rules

I have been asked about a possible rule addition to our league. The rule would be something to the effect of only 1 trade between 2 teams for the entire year. I don't think this is a good idea, but understand the reasoning. Do any of you have similar trade rules or any suggestions that would address the problem but not be so obtrusive?

As long as you have some kind of policy regarding collusion or dumping, there isn't really a need to limit trades between 2 teams.

yeah i dont like that rule, doesn't make sense.... why limit trading? If two teams are stacked in certain areas and can balance each other out, let them trade?

I felt it was a little too restrictive as well, but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't being close-minded about it. We do have anti-dumping rules and they seem to do pretty well. The problem is that a couple teams technically trade equal value, but it seems that they trade with each other what seems like a lot, they did 3 times last season.

I was in multiple leagues at Mocksports where a guy was accused of playing under 2 different names because 2 teams traded alot with each other, and they were frequently dump trades. We even discovered both teams logged in to the draft from the same IP address so he said they were cousins drafting from the same PC. The only thing you can do is call them out and not allow them to play the following year. I have since left the site because of that.

I don't like that sound of that. Obvious chuck-foolery should be prohibited, but not the amount of fair trades. If your in a league with 2 teams owned by one guy, you have bigger issues to deal with.
