I never rally thought about it before, but ... how does a hippo or rhino complain about a bad back enough to make the vet send them for an MRI? That's a head scratcher.

obviously you see them favoring it one way or another. if you see your family dog limping or constantly licking their leg/paw, then you know the area of concern. i would assume its the same with any zoo animal.
