It happened to my step-mom. I think she closed the account but I don't remember what she did beyond that to get the money back.

I agree, talking to the call center reps for credit card companies is horrible.

I shouldn't have a problem getting the money back, in fact I think it's already on the way to my account. My concern is- Was I being watched online, and how did my account get hacked? I never use my Paypal account and it had 4 dollars in it, the hacker only took 50 some dollars out of my bank account. Should I change every password to every site I use? One more question, if a suspicious email is opened does anything happen if you don't click on links in the email?
I got a call from my credit card company asking if I had made a $.50 purchase on Cheap Karaoke. I'm cheap and I like karaoke, but I didn't make that purchase. They immediately canceled the card and sent me a new one. It happened just before Christmas.
The charge shows up on statements as coming from "Adele Services" in Melville, N.Y. There is no business by that name listed in Melville, or registered to any business anywhere in New York, for that matter.
You'd think that would be enough to get the attention of the credit card companies, but add in the media coverage and the credit card companies should be fully aware of this situation by now. And they are sending money somewhere for "Adele Services", so they should have a starting point as to tracking them down.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
