Question for an expert

Postby RLVBL » Mon Jan 12, 2009 6:10 pm

I have been running an auctioned 5x5 Roto league for 6 years in Las Vegas. It has been very successful and continues to keep the original owners year after year. We have an active 25 player roster and a reserve list of 8, with a salary cap of 280. We keep up to 15 players and players have 3 year contracts unless signed long term. I am considering converting to a Dynasty league but have little knowledge of setup/operation of such a thing. Can you point me in the direction of some knowledge or give me some recommendations?
Thx Ron Frei

You'll need to do either of a couple of things: Limit yrs owned, or have salaries escalate each year, and add at least 5 minor league rounds to the draft, or the auction part of your league will stagnate and die. Look 15 keepers is almost a Dynasty as it is, you already limit contracts or escalate salaries. Most Dynasty League teams don't keep much more than 15 players as it is, just add a few minor league spots to your rosters and be done with it. Don't kill your current crop of 6 yr owners, most leagues don't stand the test of time, yours so far has. ;-D
