H2H league strategy input required.

Postby Subversive » Sun Mar 07, 2004 1:21 am

I am in an 18 team mixed H2H league on yahoo with some friends where the categories are R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, W, CG, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP .

We just held our draft today, and I pretty much ignored the saves and holds categories (my relief corps consists of Graves, Soriano (likely to be a starter at some point), and Leskanic), figuring that if I can win most/all of the offensive categories and a few of the quantitative pitching ones each week, I should be in good shape.

Is this a viable strategy, do you think, or should I start watching the waiver wire for holds and saves?
Bah, humbug.

Also, do you guys typically wait a couple of weeks into the season to figure out where you are going to be short on stats or do you start adding/dropping players right away?
Bah, humbug.

If you can truly dominate the offensive categoies then yes, this sounds viable. I'd still be on the lookout for a reliever or two just in case, however... ;-)

This is viable but it isn't that hard to get holds and saves.

When I choose graves, I like to have Ryan wagner to go along. He could take the relief job if Graves falters and will get you holds.
