Baldelli and Smoltz to the Red Sox?

i dont think ive seen one person mention the fact that smoltz is going to look awfully weird in a different uniform other than the one with the tomahawk on the front. while i've hated seeing him pitch against the phils for the past 20 years, im going to miss him. big smoltz fan here.

Seems to me like the number of and type of pitchers the Red Sox are accumulating should allow them to have a 6 man rotation.....something that will help keep guys like Smotlz and Penny healthy. This also lets them leave Masterson in the bullpen. Good move for them I think.

wasn't dice-k on the DL at some point last year? He definitely didn't throw 200 innings (167)

he was but it was a minute injury to limit his IP (something that was a problem for him in 2007). I love these signing to death, though. Baldelli especially. Smoltz definitly helps round out the roatation, and if Penny grabs a spot Smoltz is more than reliable in the bullpen.

Dice K didn't have 200 innings because he was only lasting 5 innings a game...

I'm stunned that the Braves would let him go like this though over $2M. Liberty Media is a joke and (I can't believe I'm about to say this but...) Braves fan base deserves better than these schmucks.

Supposedly the Boston incentives were easier to meet than the Atlanta incentives.
