rocco has good speed, but i would be surprised if he runs a lot this year. in '08 he didnt have a single SB, and '07 he only swiped 4. granted he was coming off the bench, but i dont think the sox would want to wear him down too much by giving him the green light even with the new diagnosis. still, i love both of these signings.

and im a big fan of your sig grouperman ;-D

If the Braves refuse to bring Smoltz back after 21 years, I am going to boycott them.

You suck Braves :-t

I like both signings. The Sox need the depth. This division will be fun to watch. Too bad the Jays haven't improved their team at all so far. That would have really made it fun.
He once hit a ball between my legs so hard that my center-fielder caught it on the fly backing up against the wall.

If Satch (Paige) and I were pitching on the same team, we would clinch the pennant by July fourth and go fishing until World Series time.

I've been wondering why the Yankees didn't grab Smoltz. He's $5 million dollars cheaper than the offer they made to Pettitte and he has a ton more potential. I don't get it.

X2 and it also surprises me that other teams didn't take more of an interest. Perhaps he made it clear where he would and wouldn't go.

I was really hoping the Pirates would snag Baldelli as rumored. Oh well. Both pretty decent risks taken by the Sox.

Not sure if he is still as fast after being sick, or if he will steal, but I have some video I shot of him going home to first in ST a few years ago -- one of the fastest out of the box I've seen, and great OF range, too. ;-D

Party on, dude!
Be excellent to each other.

I think a lot of teams don't expect Smoltz to come back fromt he shoulder surgery.

Still, he's been with the Braves HIS WHOLE CAREER. The least they could do is let him retire a Brave. Let him throw left-handed for all I care. This is going to turn away alot of Braves fans. :-{
