Rob Neyer uses the dreaded "Player X was more
feared than Player Y, therefore Player X deserves to be in the Hall of Fame and Player Y does not," argument.
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/ind ... =Neyer_Rob Well, he did just get voted into the BBWAA. Maybe they take your brain away upon receiving admission.
Of course Gossage was a better pitcher than Lee Smith, but can't you just show that instead of uttering nonsense like "more feared"?

Sarcasm.
"I do not think baseball of today is any better than it was 30 years ago... I still think Radbourne is the greatest of the pitchers." John Sullivan 1914-Old athletes never change.
