Very good potential is there, but I seriously doubt the Rays lead the AL in scoring this year.

Love the money and love the years. Not only did they get him for a good price they made sure not to over commit on years just to bring him to Tampa. He should have 2 very solid years left and then they won't have to worry about owning him when he starts to get older and slows down. Besides our SS and RF, everyone in the lineup can hold their own and then some ... me likey.

seems like a very good fit and the $ is very agreeable BUT i have always thought of burrell as very ordinary/mediocre..his OBP and career HRs look good but .250 BA and averaged 'only' 92 RBIs the last 3 years in that lineup in that ballpark..meh

on a side note, does anyone have any concerns that he may be slow to adapt to the AL and his role as DH ?

is the Trop a neutral park ? will that dampen his power (compared to citizen's bank)?

Trop dampens offense by 5-10 percent compared to CBP, according to most park factors. And, some studies indicate players switching from the NL to the AL face a further decline in their numbers. Great move for the Rays...I'd like to see what the overall impact is projected to be for Burrell in the major projections sytems.

When you can potentially have Cano batting 9th (per RotoTimes.com) the Yanks will still have the better line-up top to bottom. Nice pick up by the Rays though. Had a feeling this was going to happen and for the money, its a no-brainer. Much better deal than what the Cubs paid for Bradley.

The AL East is shaping up to be an absolute beast this year...gonna be a long summer...
