Advice needed - keeper league trade

Postby Face Melters » Sat Jan 03, 2009 11:56 pm

Any help would be appreciated:
12-team keeper league. 12 keepers this year:
My team - http://games.espn.go.com/flb/clubhouse? ... sonId=2008

I give:
Robinson Cano

I get:
James Loney
Ryan Ludwick

Thoughts?

Welcome to the Cafe - we need a passwaord and ID to access your team, and it would be nice to know your league setting's - CI/MI 5x5-6x6? But in a vacuum (no CI/MI-5x5) I'm keeping Cano. ;-D

Thanks for the welcome. Sorry about the link. The revised URL should work.

The league is head-to-head points.

I don't see anyone that I'd drop to put Loney in as a keeper, so the trade looks like its really Cano for Ludwig, so I'll keep Cano. ;-D

Definite pass for me as well. Essentially you'd be making this deal to replace Cano with Ludwick and Loney for Jackson. Personally, I think Jackson may be more valuable anyways, but essentially they are the same player. Stand pat, no need to make this move.

I'd hang onto Cano even if the trade is actually closer than it seems. I don't see Ludwick being a total fluke hitting behind Pujols, although that average probably will regress. Conor Jackson and Loney seem on par with each other, as two 1B's with limited power potential. I'm not a Cano fan for his feast-or-famine consistency, but an above-average 2B/MI is a bit more valuable when you already have 4 OF-eligible hitters to begin with.
