Word. Pitchers should only pitch, and nothing else. They shouldn't even play defense - just pitch.
Let's just put the pitchers behind BP nets and be done with it. The ONLY thing they'll ever do is throw a ball, because that's all we want to see them do. We'll have a new defender right in front of the net and baseball will FINALLY be perfect, because pitchers will pitch and only pitch, ever.
But to truly perfect the game, let's get rid of this archaic practice of having batters play defense. We'll roughly double roster sizes and we'll have specialists for everything. Only the best gloves will be in the field, while the best bats get to sit around waiting for their turn to come up. We'll get rid of that archaic practice of having batters act like first basemen and right fielders. Nobody wants to see Prince Fielder stretch to dig a ball out of the dirt, after all.
