According to MASN Sports, the Orioles and White Sox have discussed a trade involving Brian Roberts and Gavin Floyd.
Selling high on Floyd wouldn't be a bad move for the White Sox, but it would leave them with just two established starters in Mark Buerhle and John Danks. They'd have to spend quite a lot to land another, making a Roberts acquisition an especially expensive proposition. Source: MASN Sports Related: Gavin Floyd, White Sox
I think it's a solid move for both clubs, if it happens..
Roberts teaming with Alexei would be a very nice middle infield, and while losing Floyd really makes SP Depth a problem in Chicago, they're getting good value here..
Definitely makes sense for the O's, who are going nowhere with Roberts anyway..get a fresh young arm who showed some flashes last year.
Why don't they just get a house that's already painted?

I don't think this would be such a great move. They could just sign Orlando Hudson if they need a glove. Losing Floyd as mentioned will put a huge hole in their rotation - in fact, who's even penciled in for the 4th/5th spot? Broadway maybe?

i agree and
what the heck is that avatar of yours ?! a rorshach blot ? the logo of professional broom riding ?
Well when you consider Roberts will make 8 mill and Gavin last year made next to nothing, that helps even it out some. The White Sox obviously dont trust Gavin much to repeat and feel they can get other arms to replace him (though they never learn, always thinking they can win with offense).
Eh, pass. I'd be surprised if you couldn't get more than this for Roberts. Floyd is probably not as good as last year, but he's not worth as much as Roberts.
