2009 rotation

Postby Pogotheostrich » Fri Jan 02, 2009 8:06 pm

So I just heard an interview with Dewitt and it has lessened my expectations for 2009. The part that I heard that I really didn't like was that the Cardinals aren't going to sign another SP unless Carpenter isn't able to go and as of right now they expect him to start the season. He actually said that it would be a bad thing if they had 6 SP. They really learned nothing from last year.

Best case scenerio rotation:
1. Carpenter
2. Wainwright
3. Lohse
4. Wellemeyer
5. Pinero

If Carp isn't ready to go:
1. Wainwright
2. Lohse
3. Wellemeyer
4. Pinero
5. McClellan/Boggs

The 2nd option seems pretty bad and very possible.

they didnt learn anything, but i think they lucked out. i know its mid-march but carp actually looks healthy. if he is at the top, the rotation looks solid. now if they could just find a 2b...
