5x5 Keeper league

Which SP would you prefer going forward: Ervin Santana, Edison Volquez, or Carlos Zambrano? Would you trade 2B/SS/OF eligible Alexei Ramirez for any of them? The owner has some pitching glut and I think I could swing that deal.

I would prefer Santana , but I wouldn't trade Ramirez for him. His multiple positions make him valuable. Starting pitching is pretty deep this year.

Totally agree. Although I REALLY like E. Santana. The other two (especially Zambrano) not so much.

12 Team league, I am already keeping:
1B Berkman, 2B Utley, SS Reyes, 3B A-Rod, OF Soriano, SP Shields, SP Scherzer

I need some SP as our league keeps a ton of starters so the pool is usually not all that great. I also could keep J Danks, G Floyd, B Sheets, or E Bedard.

All good options, but I'd take Santana.

Does your league use a MI spot? I like Alexei, but he is a lot less valuable in an OF or Util spot, and you already have Utley and Reyes. Of the three pitchers, I agree with the others on E. Santana.

Volquez will be figured out by hitters at some point, incredible stuff but I don't like his makeup. Not sure he's going to be a player long-term. (I'm a Ranger fan and followed him for some time.) I know less about Santana but he's given my guys a LOT of trouble.

yep this is definitely the case, since your MI is already filled up and you'd probbaly be playing alexei in the OF i would trade him for Ervin assuming hes the best you can get.
