Who is the best player available

I will say this is just for a utility spot. That will be easier. Which is the best option or in what order would you rank them.

chone figgins
aubrey huff
jason werth
willy taveras
xavier nady

Why would you pick your choice?

On draft day, Huff.

At the end of the season Werth.

Need a bit more power - Huff, if you already have 100+ SBs on your roster
Need a bit more speed - Werth, can't deny the advantage of a 20/20 player ;-D

so figgins and taveras would be out of the question with huff and werth left then. I agree with your choices of huff and werth. I guess figgins and taveras only offer steals and possibly more runs but they are a little injury prone as well.

I agree with this. They are really close. I also add in that it depends whether a backup 3B/1B or a backup OF would help your roster flexibility more.

Not a fan of either one. Figgins gives you greater position flexibility and SB to boot (essentially a Juan Pierre you can move around in a few spots), Huff should be a solid RBI producer, and Werth has the higher overall payoff but I think that goes overestimated (25/25 is possible though).

I would probably go Huff, Chone then Werth.

I like Werth, but would like to see what he does with full time ab's before fully endorsing him, I'm not completely sold on him I guess. Huff is probably also the safest bet to stay healthy, which is also a pretty big consideration I think.

Chone is a SB machine when healthy, and has shown he can produce over the course of a full season with full time AB's (when healthy of course).

The other consideration for me would be format, H2H or roto? I might bump Chone up to 1 in a roto format since he'll likely make solid contribution in runs and is capable of posting a solid batting average to go with a boat load of steals. In a H2H format I bump him down a peg as less teams in H2H leagues I've found own one trick pony SB guys like Taveras, so having a handful of 20 and 10 SB guys is usually enough to compete in that category.

If you have a second, I would love a little help with mine. thanks in advance.
