I need to keep 6 of the players in the following group. Last season was the first year of the keeper league and I went for more of a win-now mentality (and win I did) so my potential keepers aren't quite as good as I would like, still decent nonetheless. Which 6 would you keep? After 4 I think it gets a little dicey, so I'd appreciate the input. I also have the last pick in the draft.
12 Team, Roto, 6x6 (QS & OPS)
All of these players I have for the next 2 seasons, after that I would have to forefit draft picks or other keepers to keep them (which I doubt I will do) so keep that in mind. For instance, if I wanted to keep Pujols for the 2011 season I would either have to give up my 1st and 3rd round picks or only keep 5 players.
Lance Berkman (Hou - 1B,OF) Stephen Drew (Ari - SS) Rafael Furcal (LAD - SS) Corey Hart (Mil - OF) Chipper Jones (Atl - 3B) Nate McLouth (Pit - OF) David Ortiz (Bos - 1B) Hunter Pence (Hou - OF) Albert Pujols (StL - 1B) Alexei Ramirez (CWS - 2B,SS,OF) Geovany Soto (ChC - C) Denard Span (Min - OF) Chris Young (Ari - OF)
Chad Billingsley (LAD - SP,RP) Jonathan Broxton (LAD - RP) Matt Cain (SF - SP) Johnny Cueto (Cin - SP) Aaron Harang (Cin - SP) Tim Lincecum (SF - SP) Brandon Morrow (Sea - SP,RP) Jake Peavy (SD - SP) Chris Perez (StL - RP) Joakim Soria (KC - RP) Edinson Volquez (Cin - SP) C.J. Wilson (Tex - RP)

i think those 5 are pretty sure-fire picks, with the last spot going to either hart or mclouth. i have both them ranked pretty closely and think it comes down to personal preference, i like mclouth between the two.

he's a bit of a risk but i think with OPS being a category, it's a risk worth taking.

When it comes to exaggerating, I always give 110%.
Pujols, Berkman, Lincecum and Peavy are 4 no brainers for me. The last two spots are a little more up in the air for me. I'd probably keep Nate McLouth next. I like his combination of speed and power, and he is more disciplined and draws more walks then Hart so his OPS should exceed Hart's.
The last spot then comes down to Ortiz or Billingsley for me. I'm leaning towards Ortiz due to your leagues keeper rules of only having them for free for 2 years essentially. I think Ortiz will produce for at least two more years, and if he doesn't, you'll likely at least have a handful of candidates to replace him at season's end. It's certainly a risk keeping Ortiz, but I think the reward far outweighs it.
Because McLouth is the only one who runs at all you'll probably have to go speed heavy early, if that's not something you want to do, maybe consider keeping Hart as your last option instead of Ortiz or Billingsley. Even though Berkman had a huge season, and is a stud with OPS as a 6th category, I think I'd try to deal him while the iron is hot. Maybe try and move him for a Kinsler or J-Roll type and an upgrade in draft selection. Either player would help out in steals, while also contributin unusually high in OPS for their respective positions. It would also help unclutter your glut of 1B's. Good luck.

I'm gonna go a different route. I believe that Alexei will finish as a top 5 2B overall. I chose Billingsley over Ortiz because you have enough power and I see Bills as a top 10 SP. Having 3 top 10 SP's will give you a huge advantage over other teams. You'll have 1B, OF and then you have the option of keeping Alexei as 2B or SS which are 2 of the more difficult positions to cover which is why I wouldn't keep someone like McLouth when you can get an OF that is similar later on.
