Sizemore for Markakis and Lincecum

Postby oakscorps » Mon Dec 29, 2008 8:03 pm

Would you make this trade

Keepers would become instead of Pujols, Kinsler, Reyes, Wright, Quentin, Sizemore, Rios, Peavy

Pujols
Kinsler
Reyes
Wright
Quentin
Rios or Markakis (Probably Markakis)
Peavy
Lincecum

I'd pass. The upgrade from Rios to Markakis is not worth the downgrade in value from Sizemore to Lincecum.

Lincecum is the most valuable pitcher in fantasy. I think Markakis brings everything that Sizemore does minus the steals. I don't think that paying Lincecum is worth the extra 20 steals. You have Reyes and Kinsler anyways. With Lincecum and Peavy leading your staff, that is a hell of a team.

Sizemore is very good but you can't do this trade. Linc for Sizemore is closer but I still wouldn't do that deal.

Normally I would take a bat over an arm, but Sizemore hit .269 last year and strikes out a ton. I just see your team doing better with power at the corners(Wright and Pujols) and speed in the middle infield(Kinsler and Reyes) to go along with 2 stud NL West pitchers(Peavy and Lincecum). Plus the NL West is a very weak offensive division, so a low ERA can be expected.

I would be getting Markakis and Lincecum for those that think I'm getting Sizemore. So essentially I would be keeping the following if I can pull it off

Pujols
Kinsler
Reyes
Wright
Quentin
Markakis
Peavy
Lincecum

If I dont make the trade then I would be keeping Sizemore and RIos in place of Lincecum and Markakis

I'd agree with this.

I'd rather have Sizemore and Rios for now. Once keepers are established, then revisit the trade. A 1st rounder for a 2nd/3rd (linc) and a 5th (Markakis) is what the trade boils down to. This would be fair. You shouldn't have to lose Rios as well.
