is he worth 5 million in a salary league or should i pass on him?

I'd pass on him for 5 million. Too many question marks for anything other than end game prices for me.

penny is nowhere close to being worth $5M, I wouldn't even take a $1M flier on him at this point.

Pass. Even if the Dodgers re-sign him, I wouldn't be bullish about his chances to either remain healthy or regain his old form (his HR/FB rate finally caught up to him in '08).
