In active owner ( Year after year what to do?

Postby Boricua2167 » Sun Dec 28, 2008 1:38 pm

I'm in this league for the last 4 yrs, when I first joined I replaced an inactive owner only to have this same guy come back. The problem is that we play in a roto league in points, our league has limits in AB and in INN's in a CBS league so if a team does not reach the limits other teams receive more points by default because this guy does not reach his limits. Our league is a paying league so there is a 1.00 for pick-ups. So my question is how do you not allow this to happen again this yr? Also how do you make a owner spend money when he's already out, and in last place or no chance of being in the money? Give me some creative solutions to this problem. Thanks guys :-)

Find out what the average owner spends in a season, raise the league entry fees to reflect that average, use a FAAB (free agent acquisition bucks) to bid on free agents, and drop the $1 fee for transactions. The FAAB is like monopoly money, most leagues use either $100 or $1000 per team. CBS can handle all of this in your league set-up.

Also, if you want raise the incentive for people out of it late to participate you can add some prizes for different things:
a) weekly payout
b) monthly payout
c) best month of the year payout
d) 1st half leader and 2nd half leader payouts (in addition to overall)

You can get very creative. Just think of what would make you pay attention on August 30th if you find yourself in 8th place?
