This signing doesn't bother me, They actually needed a CF. What bothers me is that they are looking to sign Hairston Jr to be their LF. 8-o

It isn't a bad signing considering the other OF the Reds have on the team but Taveras is a 4th OF IMO.

Behind Dickerson and Hopper? Seriously? He got regular playing time in a Rockies OF that had Spilborghs competing. Spilborghs is easily better than both Dickerson and Hopper.

I think he means overall a 4th.

I think he is saying they have garbage in the OF in Cincy, but he say's Taveras "should" only be a 4th OF not a starting CF.

Bingo. Most teams would love to have him as a 4th OF but not a starter. Good defense and great speed off the bench is a really nice option to have available but he's just not good enough to start on most teams. The Reds on the other hand are bad enough in the OF that he'll easily start.
