Look's like the Reds screwed up again.

Signing Taveras for two years...another blunder. A slightly better Corey Patterson. :-t

I'm going to disagree. The guy is a career .282. Hit .320 in 2007. Stole 68 bases in a year he hit .250 with 120 hits. He had 172 hits in 2005. If he had that many hits next year how many bases would he steal?

well i haven't seen for how much $ but he plays good D, is only 27 yo, and should hit .275 w/40+ SBs so he may earn his paycheck..the reds weren't sold on chris dickerson and don't have a strong CF type in the minors (unless you believe in drew stubbs who is at least 2 yrs away) so this is kind of a 'meh' move

Fantasy-wise he is a fine player to have, but in real life he just isn't a very good baseball player. A leadoff hitter who hits .250-.260 and only walks once every 4 games isn't ideal. A spacious Colorado OF give's him more room to get hits than the tight confines in Cincy.

Again in fantasy I'll take him to get me the SB's I need, but if I was running a team, he wouldn't be a guy I'd want to leadoff for me.

He's not bad. If he can keep the average up, then he's a very solid leadoff hitter. He's clearly not going to make the Reds a playoff team, but he's a small step in the right direction.

prior to this year he hit
.320 (in 97 games)
.278
.291
so it looks like last year wasnt the norm. If his avg gets back up he could put up a lot of steals

I think he is a good signing.
He is fast, and adds some speed at the top of the lineup.
1. FWT
2. Phillips

I like this increase in Phillips value if FWT could get on and Phillips can knock him in.
