I have made a few trades to shake up my team this offseason- first I gave up tulo for gallardo and a 1st round pick (we keep 10 players). I made that trade to reacquire a pick I had previously traded.
THEN i gave up Johan, Carlos Pena, and Chone Figgins in exchange for jose reyes. This made a lot of sense for me because I was not planning on keeping pena or figgins anyway.
Below is my team currently. I can keep TEN of these players. I am considering one of two moves:
1. Offering either Carlos Lee (or maybe alfonso soriano) in exchange for Brandon Webb (whom I think i could acquire for definitely soriano and possibly lee). I know the Webb owner is a fan of big name players and I think soriano might be slipping a bit.
2. Trading Jay Bruce for a young arm or maybe even a keeper slot from an expansion team (which i am really reluctant to do).
PLEASE tell me if is should go for WEBB, or maybe even HAMELS, or if i should just stand pat. I would also of course appreciate any advice about which ten players to keep as well. I WILL GLADLY RESPOND TO ANY POST. I thanks for the help!
Jay Bruce Josh Hamilton Carlos Lee Brian Roberts Travis Snider Alfonso Soriano Geovany Soto Shane Victorino David Wright Jose Reyes
Scott Baker Jonathan Broxton Justin Duchscherer Felix Hernandez Ubaldo Jiminez Jensen Lewis Daisuke Matsuzaka Brett Myers Saolmon Torres Brian Wilson Brad Ziegler Yovani Gallardo
2nd...keep bruce...unless that young arm in lincuem (which is impossible)

Definitely deal Soriano for Webb. I'm not a huge believe of Alfonso Soriano in fantasy, and feel like he's on the decline anyways. With Webb, you're getting a bonafide ace.

I like this advice, but I'm torn on the last keeper. I'd want to keep Roberts over Dice-K, Bruce, Soto, or Gallardo. I actually think I'd drop Dice-K even though he has the most trade value.
I'd rather have Lee or Soriano over Webb. Generally, I'd rather have a stud hitter over stud pitcher, especially in this case when Webb isn't a K-intensive pitcher.
As far as who I'd keep:
Jay Bruce Josh Hamilton Carlos Lee Brian Roberts Alfonso Soriano Shane Victorino David Wright Jose Reyes
Felix Hernandez Yovani Gallardo
I'm not particularly high on Dice-K and so I left him off. I'd try packaging him with any of your other likely keepers for an upgraded keeper.
I'd trade either one of lee or soriano for hamels but probably not for webb.

those 9 are easy imo. i'd probably give the last spot to soto since you're already keeping 4 OF, but I'd be perfectly fine with victorino too.

I disagree. Looking at R&C's median draft position report, Soriano averages going 24th while Webb is 39th ranked. So, Soriano is going a round earlier, and you actually lose value. If anything, it should be Soriano for Webb and a throw-in.
For starters, I think Lee is an undervalued fantasy player, while Soriano is a tad bit overrated. With that as my thinking, I'd rather dangle Soriano and hold tight on Lee. I think I'd try and package Soriano and Dice-K for Lincecum if the owner is scratching for a back-end keeper. As far as the 10 I'd keep:
Bruce, Hamilton, Lee, Roberts, Soriano, Wright, Reyes, Soto, Gallardo, King Felix
I was torn between Victorino and Soto, but I ultimately chose Soto because I think the combo of Roberts, Reyes and the chip ins from the rest should be solid to compete in SB's. Good luck, hope that was of some assistance. Help with mine please?

Agreed. I love Webb but pitchers in general are inconsistent and injury prone.
