He could have played last year if his demands weren't so steep. If he was willing to accept a minor league contract with incentives he'd be signed today. But expecting someone to give you $7m just because is pretty unrealistic.

When will he finally just go away forever? Every year he seems to make some noise about how teams should be lucky to have him and he should not have to initiate negotiations, etc.

The reality is that he's a washed-up relic of the steroid era who is now at best a platoon player.
