After missing out on Mark Teixeira, general manager Tony Reagins said Tuesday that Kendry Morales is in line to be the Angels' starting first baseman.
"We feel good about what he can do with considerable at-bats and good health," Reagins said. "At some point our young guys have to get that opportunity." Morales has hit just .249/.302/.408 in 407 plate appearances spread over three seasons in the majors, but the 25-year-old switch-hitter has a .335/.374/.518 line in 208 games at Triple-A. Those numbers are inflated by the hitting environment at Salt Lake, but he's definitely capable of being a productive regular. Source: Los Angeles Times
He's a good prospect, so I think there's a chance he'll be good. In my 16 team league I may look to draft him with a late round pick. I think he's someone to put on the watch list at least.
Kendry is currently playing in the DWL, hitting around .400 w/28 rbi in 24 games, can he bring it to Anaheim?, my guess is sort of, but not REALLY bring it.
Tricky to say. I think the Angels organization top to bottom are high on him and had a chance to win the 1B job, but found Kotchman was a better defender and had a more mature approach when it came to putting the ball in play. Of course with Tex no longer there, Morales has the job to himself, but if I can hazard to guess, I believe he's more in the lines of Casey Kotchman, with the tradeoff for slightly better power and his average a bit down.

Wait isn't Nelson Cruz a career AAAA player? One good month doesn't make up for 3 years of failed attempts to adjust to the major league
Anyway I would agree mostly with what has been said here. There's a chance he could be productive but I wouldn't go crazy over him. I doubt he will be drafted in most leagues, and I personally wouldn't be willing to risk anything more than a last round pick on him...
I dont know how much you can expect from him but he does have the talent. You probably could do a lot worse with a late round pick..280 with 15-20 hr could happen

That's about what I'd expect if he gets most of the 1b at bats, but I'd hardly call that breaking out.
