What makes a performance "out of the blue"? Just curious.
Quentin, Pedroia, and Volquez were very, very solid prospects coming up through the minors. Cliff Lee had a good season before a very bad season before the breakout season. I agree that nobody saw Ludwick's season coming.
But if we're talking about a season beyond reasonable expectation, why not include Josh Hamilton on that list?
I'm not saying that Hamilton is an 09 bust...just wondering why Quentin is viewed skeptically whereas the best debate conjured over Hamilton is whether he's best picked in the 1st round or the 2nd round.

i really don't think that quentin should be included on this list. nevertheless i hope that these rumors spread so that i can get him cheap on draft day

With all of these guys being taken so high already, I do not see myself owning them as well. This could be the season to draft yourself a monster year with perrenials falling into your lap.

Out of the list, I feel very strongly on two of them. I think Quentin is the real deal, and Lee is a disaster waiting to happen. The others I'm all "eh" on the subject.
