As a Tex owner myself I was hoping he'd go to Boston or Baltimore or New York and definitely not Washington for fantasy purposes. Obviously I'd have liked to see him become a Red Sox but fantasy-wise being in the Yankees lineup isn't such a bad consolation.

I think the important thing this brings for Teixeira's fantasy value is security. In the event that he went elsewhere, aside from Boston, the potential for a teams offensive to stagnate around him was higher. There is no reason to believe the NYY are gonna stop putting up runs and RBI opportunities.

This isnt so much what Teixeiras numbers 'gained' by going to NYY, it's more a case of what it didn't lose.
