Help Selecting Keepers

Postby brad_fox87 » Mon Dec 22, 2008 10:20 pm

I am in a standard 5X5 keepers league and we get to select any 5 players to keep.

Here is my roster from the end of last season:
C Ryan Doumit
1B Justin Morneau
2B Dan Uggla
3B Kevin Youkilis
SS Hanley Ramirez
OF Jacoby Ellsbury
OF Curtis Granderson
OF Josh Hamilton
Bench Aubrey Huff
Bench Torii Hunter
Bench Randy Winn

SP CC Sabathia
SP Dice-K Matsuzaka
SP Matt Cain
SP Ricky Nolasco
SP Randy Wolf
SP Jair Jurrjens
RP Francisco Rodriguez
RP Francisco Cordero
RP Kevin Gregg
RP Kerry Wood
RP Jensen Lewis

I know that Hanley, Hamilton, and CC are pretty much obvious picks, but who else should I keep? Thanks for any help

I would take Morneau and probably Ellsbury. I am a Dice K fan and believe that one of these years he will put up a top 5 season but Ellsbury gives you lots of steals and the hitter is usually the safest route.

1B Justin Morneau
SS Hanley Ramirez
OF Curtis Granderson
OF Josh Hamilton

SP CC Sabathia

I think this is a nice start to your team. Good balance of power and speed while giving you a top-flight ace to build off of.

This one is pretty cut-and-dried IMO. Hanley, Hamilton, CC, Morneau, Granderson in that order.
