Baseball games for the Wii

Postby Neato Torpedo » Mon Dec 22, 2008 12:36 am

The Wii Sports one is fun but incredibly basic. Anyone played MLB 2K8 or Mario Super Sluggers? Can anyone offer some insight on how the gameplay is for each one? The last baseball video game I played was MVP 2005, but with the advent of the Wii I have a reason to play them again.

What I want to see is a feature where, when you pitch, you have to twist the controller a certain way to throw a certain type of pitch. I mean, pressing buttons is so 1990s. :-b

I have MLB2k8 and while its not great I assume its the best one out there. Homeruns comes a bit easy (as do over-the-wall catches), runner control isn't the best, but the rest of the game is pretty solid. My biggest gripe with it though is the lack of internet play or roster updates, which seem like they should be standard by now.
Other than that I would recommend it. Too bad there no turning to throw different pitches, its still the joystick selection like most other baseball games. :-t

Do you at least get to swing with the motion remote? I wasn't too impressed with the Wii Sports baseball game but a good, licensed Wii baseball game could be the one that really wows sports gamers.
