Curtis - Where does it update standings real time? I don't remember ever seeing a change in standings until your weekly scoring period was over, in H2H at least. Come to think of it, I have never done roto on CBS, they have all been on Yahoo. Either way, if the site updates standings real time for H2H, please let me know where.
I wouldn't think they could update standings in H2H until the period ended, it really doesn't count until the week is over, although they do update the H2H matchup(s) play by play. The roto updates are fun, in 1 real close Roto league we had 4-5 different leaders some evenings with a couple weeks to go. I believe CBS offers up a 2 week free preview if these posts aren't enough to completely sway you already
Yeah then, must not be in h2h. It makes sense they wouldn't update real time because it doesn't really count in h2h until the period is over. But Yahoo's statracker does have a standings tab where it shows the current look IF the games were ended. This is actually one feature that Yahoo has that I love. It makes a big difference when you're coming down to playoff time and there are tons of different points tie-breakers affecting things. It is annoying to manually calculate that out yourself.
there is all kinds of customizable fields in CBS. You have to sometimes finagle some things to get what you want, but they do allow for it all. I have leagues with contracts and/or salary cap leagues. I've heard of much more complicated stuff than I have even done. If you go with CBS and wants tips on how to achieve certain things feel free to PM me.
I know that ESPN has been completely ignored since it crashed two years ago. However, I have been using ESPN for a 14 team H2H keeper league and this coming year will be the league's third year. It has the same features that any other leagues have and is absolutely free.
The one thing that it doesn't have yet, and maybe they will implement it soon, is a record book. They do however have a history page where you can actually view the league home pages from the previous years. So basically you can look at all the stats from those past years and keep your own record book which is what I have been doing.
I think that ESPN is the perfect combination of all the service for zero money down. I know you might be concerned about them crashing again, and I always am too, but you have to think that a legitimate company of that size would never make the same mistake twice. Just my $.02
