Im trying to finalize my 8 keepers in a dynasty H2H league. Im thinking Ludwick may have had a Carlos Pena breakthrough and has a good chance of putting up decent numbers next season. Ive been looking at some mock drafts and im seeing Ludwick getting drafted before Gordon too. You guys think I should roll the dice on Gordon or stick with Ludwick?
Pujols, Albert 1B PHI Phillips, Brandon 2B CIN Dunn, Adam LF ARI Ludwick, Ryan RF STL or Gordon, Alex ??? Fielder, Prince 1B MIL
Harden, Rich SP CHC Lincecum, Tim SP SF Liriano, Francisco SP MIN
being a dynasty increases gordon's value, but i think ludwick is still the choice here. while he will probably regress somewhat this year, his peripherals were very solid and he should maintain a pretty high level of production.
I would also go with Ludwick. Gordon has the talent to be much better than Ludwick but he has yet to show it in 2 seasons of baseball. I have Gordon in a Dynasty and I very much want to see a breakout season but I would have thought that he would have shown an increase in production to show what his future might be. Ludwick will probably take a step back but should be servicable. It all really depends on whether you want to take the risk with upside (Gordon) or take the sure thing of a average Fantasy OF (ludwick).

I would go with Ludwick here . Since his rank will be much higher , he might be hard to draft. Gordon on the other hand won't be ranked as high and you could probably get him back in the draft.
I, too, would have to go with Ludwick. Gordon just hasn't come close to making me think he's going to have that breakout season this coming year. It's still possible...look what C. Quentin did this year. However, Gordon has been playing fulltime unlike Quentin when he was with AZ. I'd stick with Ludwick and try to draft Gordon back. I still think he has it in him to breakout.
It looks like Gordon is on a slow/steady incline in his career, but I do not see him really reaching his potential for another two years. Ludwick looked to be legit last season, and at this point, I think he holds more value and would be selected before Gordon.
As long as there's Pujols in the Cards' lineup, Ludwick should directly benefit from that. I don't think he's as good as his breakout season might indicate, but I believe he'll crack 30 homers again and hit for a decent enough average. Can't say the same about Gordon, who still hacks at anything. I believe Gordon will eventually pan out, but he's more likely to be an afterthought in the draft than Ludwick.
