HELP! CDavis,Smoak/Price,Alvarez

Postby djacks » Sat Dec 20, 2008 5:10 pm

14 team keeper...we keep 7 plus 2 prospects.

I give Chris Davis and Justin Smoak, I get David Price and Pedro Alvarez

My team:

1B - Fielder
2B - Utley
3B - Davis
SS - Rollins
OF - Braun
OF - Sizemore

SP - Webb
SP - Cliff Lee
SP - Lester

Prospects: Rasmus and Smoak

Right now I'd keep my hitters plus Webb and try to trade my other pitchers for picks. If I do the trade I'd keep Lester or Lee instead of Davis, and Price and Alvarez would be my prospects. But I'm a little worried about not having a 3B...pretty slim pickins out there. My best options in the draft are probably Reynolds, Kouz, Cantu, Glaus, Figgins...see where I'm going? Yuck.

I personally really like Price.

You're got more than 7 keepers. Keep all of your hitters and Webb. Go 2 for 1 and offer Lee and Lester for Price.

Then keep Price and either Rasmus or Smoak, or engineer another trade.

i'd hold onto davis and smoak. i think your best bet is to try and trade lester or lee for a minor leaguer or just stand pat.

Do the deal. Price and Alvarez show a lot of promise. I am one of the few that is staying off of the Davis bandwagon. I just don't see him being good enough to be a starter all year long. I like Smoak a lot too but getting Price is the deal breaker.

I would do it. I think CDavis is overrated. In time, Price/Alvarez both will be better. Cantu is a decent option at 3b.
