2 part keeper/trade question, will answer urs

Postby oakscorps » Fri Dec 19, 2008 6:23 pm

I'm in a 12 team 7x7 H2H keeper league with stats in H, HR, RBI, R, SB, K, and AVG plus W, L, ERA, WHIP, K, SV, and IP that I won easily last year, my keepers are as follows:

Pujols
Kinsler
Reyes
Wright
Sizemore
Quentin (CWS OF)
Rios
Peavy

Some extra trade players I have are Votto and Liriano and Cliff Lee

I was offered Sabathia for Peavy and Votto (Should I take) (2 for 1 keeper for him)

I would also like to trade Sizemore because I really dont need him with having RIos, Reyes, and WRight for a top Pitcher like Lincecum, Webb, Haren, he actually hurts me in a 7x7 league imo. Which pitchers should I try and get for him?

My top 2 pitchers are Santana and Lincecum. I would target those 2 for Peavy and Votto.

I wouldn't trade Sizemore for any pitcher. I can see him still improving (which is scary). In your case, I'd try and package Rios and Cliff Lee or Liriano for someone like Webb, Halladay, or Hamels.

Just to add to this

I tried trading Rios and nobody wants him although I'm not sure why because imo in a 7x7 H2H league he is very valuable.

I think CC and Peavy are almost a wash as long as Peavy is a Padre or pitching in the NL West. Just depends if you want to take on a chance for more wins at some expense of your ERA that could be made up for with Peavy. Personally, I don't like chasing wins even if there's a loss category in the fold here.

I wouldn't trade Sizemore even if he's maddening to have in a H2H. There's a short list as to who I'd deal Sizemore for and it's a limited one, possibly Johan Santana if you're talking about pitchers. I'd try shopping around any combination of Quentin, Rios, Votto, and Liriano for an upgrade.

My keepers would be

Pujols
Kinsler
Reyes
Wright
Rios
Quentin
Lincecum or Sizemore
Peavy

Keep trying for the Linc deal. I think you will have to give up more than just Sizemore as Linc is one of the top SP out there. I would stay away from CC. It just feels like he isn't going to be the stud pitcher. I also expect Peavy to move to another team either now or by midseason so his wins should improve.

if you really want to deal for a pitcher, i'd try countering with quentin for haren. if you're bent on trading sizemore for pitching though, you can't do much better than lincecum in a keeper league.
