Joba or Price?

Postby rmande09 » Fri Dec 19, 2008 6:10 pm

In a keeper league. I have Joba for free this year and next year. I can trade him for Price, whom I would get for this year, next year, and 2011 for free without using a keeper spot. Who is the right choice?

I guess this will be the answer to our decision! (I don't know if it will quite work that way)

I like Price for the extra year. It's definitely not the safe pick, and it's definitely a close call.

I like Price better I think. Joba may start in the pen.

I'd take the Price side for sure.

I think Price will be eventually better in the long term and you can keep him longer than you could Joba. Price for me.

Gotta take Joba here if he starts in the rotation / Price if not. So the big question here is, can you wait 'till the spring to decide?

Price by a long shot. Generally you stay away from gambling on rookie pitchers over experienced ones but i think Price is one of those exceptions. Yanks also said today they will still use Joba in relief situations in 09. Joba also developed arm problems at the end of last season trying to adjust as a starter.Who knows what will happen with him they are starting to make a mess of this kids career. Tampa has already cleared a rotation spot for Price. Price gave us just a small taste of what hes about in the post season. I think this is a no brainer.

I don't consider Price a rookie. What he showed under the pressure of the playoffs and WS is enough for me. And as said above he is now a lock for the rotation.I have him and have turned down a couple of offers already. He can be had but it will cost somebody. He would be my choice of the two pitchers.
