we are in our 3rd and final year of a 3 year keeper league where we keep 5 players. i am keeping the following 4 for sure.

hanley ramirez
brandon phillips
nick markakis
carlos beltran

should I keep brian mccann or garrett aktins to go along with the other 4 above? i'm not sure about keeping a catcher. WHIR. thanks.

Mccann imo, a good C is harder to find then a good 3B, plus I question what kind of help Atkins will have next year

I would go with Mccann also.

i'd easily take mccann here, hes at least a top 3 catcher and at the shallowest of positions... plus i think he'll put up with similar value to atkins even with with position difference.

I'd go with McCann. He easily has the best all-around potential among catchers and Atkins, at best, will produce a similar power line to McCann anyway, only from a relatively deeper position than C.

I agree. McCann is hands down the guy to keep. Most of the time I won't keep catchers because you can find at the least a servicable one in the draft. However with McCann, you have a top 5 (if not a top 3) catcher already on your roster.

Atkins is currently trade bait and his value would likely decrease away from Coors Field.

A combo of what else has already been said. Catcher is easily the thinnest position and McCann is perhaps the best one. Atkins is overrated and if traded his value will fall significantly. Keep McCann.
