What do you guys think of this trade? And how do you think Chase will respond from this injury in 09? Ive been hearring alot about his hip injury being a degenerative injury.

I'd see it as Timmy over Bills, but Utley over Phillips.

I would try to hold off on this deal until Utley is given a clean bill of health. The injury to Bills is being overblown, its just a broken shin.

The safe bet is to hold onto Timmy and Phillips.

I like this analysis. I'd stick with Lincecum and Phillips due to Utley's injury, but I'd revisit it in the spring.

My thoughts were along these lines.. You have to gamble if you really want 1st place. And what better player to gamble on than Utley. I know that an injury is an injury and when it comes down to it hes still human like the rest of us. He may just not be fully healed. This is the gamble. Do I buy low and take the chance to pick him up while I can? I would be getting one of if not the best 2nd baseman in the game and be able to supplement somewhat the pitching stats I lose in Lincecum with Bills. So if all goes according which I think the odds are in favor of them doing so, I upgrade my offense and take a minimal hit in pitching.

As the offer stands now, I like the Lincecum/Phillips side.

I like the Utley side. He won't be out that long, and Bills should improve. Hard for Timmy to repeat last years numbers.
