Phillips Trade - WHIR

Postby runxc3200 » Wed Dec 17, 2008 9:28 am

Hey All -

10 Team Dynasty - 6x6 (OBPS and Holds)

I recently reach out to another team in my league to see if he would be willing to trade phillips - he said that he was interested in trading him, but I'm not sure what I would need to give up to get him. My initial offer was Burnett straight up (thinking i could sell high and buy low), but i highly doubt that will get it done. I was considering tossing in Loney or Atkins. Which do you think I should include if i need to go there...Loney is way younger/more upside (it is a dynasty league...), and I know people are low on Atkins, but I can see him hitting .280-.290 w/ 90-100 RBI, which would be pretty decent for one of my UTL spots.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated - As always, WHIR

If you need to include someone, make it Loney.

I'm no fan of Atkins, but I think I would try and trade Loney first.

I'm a Phillips owner so I hope to have a little insight. He was a big part on my team that won the championship last season. Our league is set up the same way as yours. Even in a down year, he was 20/20 with I think about 80/80 on Runs/RBIs. I wouldn't trade my Phillips for Loney, simply for the 2B vs. 1B position, and that fact that Phillips will help out at least 4 cats in 2009.

Its a good starting point, but I think you would have to give up a bit more.

I think you'd need to give up more then Loney/Burnett but if he accepts it RUN with it.

If I had Phillips, I probably wouldn't take Burnett, Loney, AND Atkins for him. I think you need to pony up some more talent, but it's always good to start low ;-D

ya i'd start with burnett and loney, but i doubt that'll get it done. If you're already keeping a 3B other than Atkins, and have a hole at 2B, I'd be willing to go Burnett+Atkins if he doesn't accept.

Id start by asking him if he would be interested in a trade for Phillips involving Billingsley and a middle round draft pick.
