WKELLY you bring up good points, but there are things that account for that. OPS+ is relevent to league average, and park adjusted. Win shares show Bonds right there.

Expansion hit in 61, so Willie wasn't in a 8 team league long.

MOOKIE 40/40 is great in fantasy, but in real life, it's extremely overrated.
One, you are equating a hr to a sb, which are miles apart. Second, 40 sb doesn't mean your speed was a asset. It doesn't show if you had poor success rates.
A guy who hits 40 hrs and goes 5/5 in sb, has more value then a 40/40 guy with 20 caught stealings.

I posted something like this as a trivia question a year or two ago. If I remember my research correctly, it went something like this: there are only three players to go 30/30 more than twice. Bobby and Barry did it 5 times. Without researching or checking old posts from the trivia forum, does anybody remember the other guy to do it 3 times? :-)
(taps little picture of a microphone)... is this thing on?

It was either Sosa or HOJO. I think HOJO was twice, so i'm guessing Sosa.

You're too good. Last time I asked this one, it seemed a lot harder. Took a litle while. Oh, and BTW, it wasn't Sosa. But I thought Hojo would be harder to remember. He did it in '87, '89, and '91.

BTW, the only guys to go 30/30 in consecutive seasons are Willie Mays, Barry and Bobby Bonds, Ron Gant, Alfonso Soriano, and Vladimir Guerrero. If it wasn't for Ron Gant sticking his ugly nose in there, that's some pretty illustrious company for Soriano and Vlad.
