Theres no MI spot. Just 2 Util. I dont get the quentin love affair. Should i draft Ludwick here?? Im passing alot of proven talent with the 1st pick of the 2nd round to take a one year wonder comming off wrist surgery. Do people think his numbers will actually get better?! I can only see him stayin the same at best or regressing now that the cats out of the bag (sort of speak)

The kid is a former top prospect who finally realized his potential. His plate discipline is stellar for a power hitter, and makes him a very safe projection. There is an issue with his wrist injury, and most people believe this will sap some of his power. In 480ab he had 36HR with 100RBI and 96R. So even if you lower his HR rate (due to speculation with his wrist injury) he should at least match last years totals with 600Ab.

Now I could see Manny being argued over Quentin. I think it will depend on where Manny goes. If he goes to a contender, I could see him having a great year. But if he is out of the spotlight I could see him mailing it in early. Also with Manny getting up in age, injuries will become more frequent and lingering. So the "safe" pick, also has issues.

DUDE you gotta go with Markakis for one of the slots. The only way I'd even think about going Manny (Quentin does not cross my mind here) is if it's a redraft, which it sounds like it might be. Markakis is above average in every category and is only getting better. :-D :-D

2007 637AB 23HR 112RBI 97R 61BB 112K 18SB 6CS .300/.362/.485
2008 595AB 20HR 87RBI 106R 99BB 113K 10SB 7CS .306 .406 .491

Getting better? Hmmm. His plate patience has improved, but his SB dropped off a bit. His power remained about the same. I would argue that he had pretty much the same season.

Andre Ethier 525AB 20HR 77RBI 90R 59BB 88K 6SB 3CS .305 /.375/.510

They had similar seasons (except for the RBIs), but you can get Ethier way later than Markakis. I just don't see justification for all the hype that he gets.

we keep one hitter and one pitcher. so its mainly a redraft minus ur power hitting superstarts. 12 man league. Would anyone take Vlad for one of those 2 spots if he were to drop?

You take Reyes/Rollins (if Reyes is unavailable). The second pick is really a choice between Markakis/Vlad/Manny. I would take Manny because I think he kills it this year. If you aren't comfortable with him, take Vlad if Angels resign Tex. However, as I see him becoming a Sox, I'd take Markakis.

12 team league that keeps 1 hitter & 1 pitcher and you have the 1.12 & 2.1 picks after keepers. I do not see any way the Reyes is there as you will be looking at #24 & 25 hitters.

If Rollins is there I think you should take him. For your 2.1 pick I think your choices would be Manny, Longoria, C Lee, Crawford & Utley if he falls. I would rank the 2.1 pick (after Rollins at 1.12) & assuming Utley is not available.
C Lee
Manny
Longoria
Crawford

2.1 is to high for Vlad, D Lee ARam
