I don't think either of those implications are made. I don't think Mark Teixeira is overrated, nor do I think Sabathia is, but I will enjoy the Yankees not capturing the championship in '09, which is their only accepted result, to see what their next step(s) will be.

The Yankees will make the playoffs. They have a strong chance at winning their division. They will not win the World Series. It's a beautiful thing.

My thoughts as well. I'm already excited to see what excuses come from the organization next winter. Maybe Steinbrenner will complain about the lack of the DH in the national league again. Whatever their excuses are, hilarity will ensue.

Hank complained about the difficulty of the AL East when they missed the playoffs last season, and how it wasn't fair that teams like the Dodgers got to be in.
