trade help

Postby triple3play » Fri Dec 12, 2008 5:29 pm

not sure if I should have put this in the projections forum but what do you guys think of Zumaya this year and in the future? Is he healthy, will he set up or close? I've been offered Zumaya and Hermida for Putz in a dynasty league where you get points for holds. Should I ride out Putz or take the upside of other two. Hermida is basically just for OF depth although I still do like his potential

I think I'd keep Putz. Zumaya "could" stay healthy and close or get you a lot of holds this year, while Hermida "could" take the next step up. If one of these scenarios happen, the trade is even. However, there is a likelihood that one doesn't and you'd have gotten rid of someone who will be one of the best holds guys around with the Mets.

If you're concerned with holds, Putz would seem to be your man now.

Good bullpen arms are a dime-a-dozen. If Putz has value in your league move him for a talented offensive peace. I'm not crazy about Hermida, but he is still only 24 and his potential to become a .300/.370/.500 player is still there. Zumaya hasn't been healthy and doesn't have the control to succeed in the Majors right now. He may turn it around, but I'd just as well have Rafael Perez, Jon Rauch, or even Jerry Blevins. I'd do it, if you don't think you could get any more for Putz.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

depends a bit on how the rest of your roster looks, and who hermida would be replacing. not knowing any of that, i'd hold onto putz. he'll give you great ratios, holds, and the occasional save if K-rod is hurt or gets a day off.

Putz ;-D I can't see Zumaya helping anymore than Putz in the best of times, and Hermida doesn't appear to have a clue as to what he wants to be, I'd guess him for 15hr/65rbi with zero speed and .260 ba :-t
